I recently posted on my instagram (you can follow me @drivenfitnesserica) that fitness isn't always fun. It's an unfortunate truth. There will be many times when you don't feel like exercising. In fact, I don't feel like exercising right this very minute! It's why I'm writing this blog instead of running, ha!
When your motivation is lacking, it's your discipline that will kick in to help you reach your goals.
BUT, I do want you to have as much fun as possible while you're exercising. That's what will keep you going for the rest of your life. So here are three ways to make fitness fun....
1. Try something new - Maybe you've always wanted to try a line dancing class. Or you're curious about golf. Step outside your comfort zone and try something new. It might spark your motivation. It will most likely make you smile (and that reduces the pesky cortisol I talk about) and who knows? Maybe you'll find a new hobby or sport!

2. Get a girl gang - When I found my group of female mountain bikers a few years ago, it literally changed my life. I was struggling to find new friends and people to ride with. When I decided to latch on to the local bike shop (shout out to Kristen and Pure Ride Cycles) I felt like I was home. The women in my tight little girl gang shared so many fun adventures, laughs and even tears that I will treasure always. Finding a group of women who you click with makes your workouts so much fun. And it encourages you to do more!

3. Find adventure - Ever since I was a little kid I craved adventure. There is something about the unknown. About finding a route, a trail or a secret gem of a place that lights the fire in my belly. The adventures that challenge you also make you grow. They show you who you are as a human. And for me the adventures keep me going when I need inspiration.

Grab your girl gang, try something new and have your own adventure!
